Ethically sourced leather cover features an intricately embossed tree of life design. Inside are 144 pages of 100% tree-free, cotton paper. Artisans collect cotton waste and turn it into a pulp to create a rich textured paper with a uniquely soft feel. Measures 4" x 6"

Undergoing a multi-step process that includes vegetable tanning, oiling, waxing, sanding, and rolling, this leather ends up with a distressed finish that brings out the beauty of the leather and has a soft, textured feel. Based in Eldoret, Kenya, Imani Workshops was established in 2005 under the social enterprise wing of the Academic Model for Providing Access to Healthcare (AMPATH). AMPATH was created in response to the challenge of providing life-saving care in the face of the HIV pandemic in Kenya. AMPATH now treats over 60,000 HIV-positive persons, with almost 2,000 new patients being enrolled each month at over 500 clinical sites throughout western Kenya. |
